Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) – Deepening Knowledge and Skills with Chris Irons – Day 1
Recorded Workshop
Presenter: Dr. Chris Irons
Please note: you will have access to this recording until Monday 7th June
This two day workshop has been developed to help practitioners develop their clinical skills in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to work with people who struggle with shame and self -loathing. The workshop will not be problem specific but look at the transdiagnostic ways to work with and develop self-compassion.
As the emphasis will be on clinical skills and role play, it would be helpful if you have attended introductory workshops on CFT, know the theory and are comfortable with social mentality theory, shame, attachment, CFT formulation concepts such as tricky brain, three circles and compassionate mind training.
You will have an opportunity to learn more about the CFT model, and how you can use this as a powerful transdiagnositc approach to your work.
In the workshop you’ll learn to deepen your understanding of:
- Some of the biopsychosocial theory that sits underneath CFT
- How to use the three system model of emotion in a practical and helpful way in therapy
- How to formulate in different ways using CFT
- Examples how to explain and share the concept of compassion
- How do explore parts work in CFT
- How to use and engage in various CFT interventions to cultivate greater self-compassion
