Anger, compassion, and what it means to be strong – Russell Kolts TEDx talk

Although anger can elicit a sense of strength within us, it is common for individuals to employ angry behaviour as a means of evading uncomfortable situations. On the other hand, compassion provides us with a path to harness true strength, enabling us to confront fear-inducing aspects of the world and ourselves with courage.

In this TEDx talk Russell Kolts explores how by embracing compassion, we can actively contribute to improving these challenging aspects and foster positive change.

RUSSELL KOLTS is a Professor of Psychology at Eastern Washington University and Director of the Inland Northwest Compassionate Mind Center in Spokane, Washington, USA. He has authored or co-authored scientific articles on various areas of psychology and has written several books about compassion-focused therapy and compassion.
