Dr Kristy Potter is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist who has worked in a variety of public health settings including the NHS and Ministry of Defence. Kristy is passionate about working together with people overcome issues related to anxiety and depression and has a particular interest in assisting people with long term health issues and their families rebuild their lives and return to doing what they care about.
She has a strong value in making psychological therapies accessible to everyone, and as such, is skilled in working with people who have a range of intellectual abilities or who experience age related issues. Along with this she has specialist expertise in mind-body links, brain functioning and neuropsychology.
Kristy places high importance on developing the evidence base for psychological therapies and actively maintains a research program. She also loves to teach and train others and frequently runs training sessions for other health professionals within both health and University settings.
Kristy sees a warm, collaborative therapy environment as crucial to making changes, and as such, creates relaxed, open and safe therapeutic atmospheres to work within.
Kristy’s main therapy model is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and, she also draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and principles from systemic (family) therapy. She uses EMDR and Narrative Exposure Therapy, both of which is exceptionally helpful in addressing issues associated with trauma.

Kristy works with a range of issues and life problems, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, social anxiety, confidence and trauma. She has specialist skills in working to promote adjustment to long term health condition and associated emotional issues, such as low mood, anxiety and bereavement.

Fees for sessions with Kristy
If you are paying for therapy sessions yourself, the standard fee for either an initial consultation or therapy session is £160.
We ask that payment is made before the consultation.
