Sessions with Kristy

Dr Kristy Potter is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in both an NHS setting as well as with the Ministry of Defence. Kristy has worked with a variety of common mental health presentations and in specialist services in Intellectual disability and older adults. Kristy has expertise in neuropsychology and significant experience in working with long term health conditions, particularly with regards to adjustment. Kristy’s primary area of focus is within a physical health setting and she also has a special interest in supporting family carers of people with disabilities or long term conditions.

Kristy is a research active clinician with a strong publication record and also has experience of delivering both teaching and training to professionals and in a University environment.

Kristy’s primary model of choice is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) however, she also draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and principles from systemic (family) therapy. She has also training in Narrative Exposure Therapy. Her therapy style is warm and empathic with a focus on collaborative working, in a relaxed, open and safe environment.

What kinds of difficulties does Kristy work with? 

Kristy works with a range of presentations, including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem and trauma. Her special interest is with adjustment to long term conditions as well as supporting with adjustment to other life altering circumstances including acute and chronic illness, bereavement or other personal circumstances.

Fees for Sessions with Kristy

If you are paying for therapy sessions yourself, the standard fee for either an initial consultation or therapy session is £135.

We ask that payment is made before the consultation.

Payment can be made with BACS.
