Join Louise Hayes, leading world expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Training (ACT) for young people, a clinical psychologist and author for this 2-day training. The DNA-V model uses cutting edge research from positive psychology to bring a truly developmental focus to your work with young people. It’s all about mindfulness and growth.
She will demonstrate how to use the new model to build your skills with young people in a workshop that is suitable for all professionals who work with young people, including psychologists, counselors, social workers and teachers. Using techniques that work individually with young people in therapy, and scale this up to groups in classrooms.
The workshop is fun and creative and will focus on teaching you how to be experiential with young people and use a full range of techniques that go beyond talking at them, to make your sessions alive and engaging!
At the end of the two days, you will be ready to do ‘the walk of life’ with a young person.
Read the first chapter of The Thriving Adolescent: Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
and Positive Psychology to Help Teens Manage Emotions, Achieve Goals, and Build Connection (Hayes, L & Ciarrochi, J, released November 2015).
No prior ACT training is required to attend this workshop.
