Please Note: Russ’ last UK workshop sold out 2 months in advance, so please book early to avoid disappointment
Back by popular demand, Russ Harris returns to present his highly acclaimed INTERMEDIATE LEVEL workshop: ACT Made Simple
The intermediate level workshop will cover case conceptualisation in both clinical and non-clinical populations: how to conceptualise any client problem in terms of the ACT model, from clinical disorders such as depression, anxiety, addiction to non-clinical issues such as work stress, performance anxiety, fear of failure and low self-confidence. It also covers working with mandated or coerced clients; getting unstuck (for both clients and therapists); ‘selling ACT’ to your clients; getting to values when your client says ‘I don’t know’; overcoming resistance and motivating the unmotivated; anger and resentment; compassion and forgiveness.
In this workshop, you will discover:

Please note this is an intermediate level workshop and we assume registrants have attended some form introductory level training or are familiar with the ACT model by doing some background reading. A good book to read to get up to speed is Russ Harris’s “ACT Made Simple”. Do feel free to contact us if you are unsure.
Russ Harris, author of the international best-selling self-help book ‘The Happiness Trap’, is an world-renowned trainer of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). Russ’s background is in medicine. As a GP he became increasingly interested in the psychological aspects of health and wellbeing, and increasingly disenchanted with writing prescriptions. Ultimately this interest led to a total career change. He now works in two different, yet complementary roles – as a therapist and as a coach – with over 12,000 hours of one-on-one sessions under his belt.
Since 2005, Russ has provided ACT training for over 15,000 Australian therapists, coaches, counselors, doctors, and other health professionals. He has authored two ACT textbooks (including ACT Made Simple). The Happiness Trap is now the most widely-translated ACT book in the world, available in over thirty countries and twenty-two languages.
Russ has a unique model for training, which he calls ‘ACT Made Simple’, because it covers so much material in a short space of time. He proudly proclaims each workshop a ‘jargon-free zone’ – and bases his training on three core values: simplicity, clarity, and having fun. His highly-acclaimed ACT workshops are brief, powerful, cost-effective and life-enhancing. Participants regularly report not only major improvements in their therapy and/or coaching, but also in their personal lives – and evaluation forms frequently praise his ability to make complex ideas seem very simple.
