The world of coaching has come a long way in a short time. Good coaches are continually trying to enhance their skillset and find new ways of getting great results for their clients. And, in an increasingly professionalised and regulated industry, it’s no longer enough to just state that coaching works – we need to be able to demonstrate how it works.
Acceptance and Commitment Coaching (ACC) is an exciting, new model of coaching, drawing on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A clear, flexible, and evidence-based approach to behaviour change, it has the potential to take your coaching practice to the next level.
Do you sometimes find yourself hitting a brick wall with certain clients? Do you find yourself getting drawn into futile attempts to help your clients change or control their thoughts and feelings? Do you want to help your clients develop the skills to take bold, values-based action, not just occasionally, but on an ongoing basis? ACC could be exactly what you are looking for.
Drawing on their new book Acceptance and Commitment Coaching: Distinctive Features, Joe and Jon will introduce you to how you can use the core skills of mindfulness and values-based action to help your clients make truly transformative change.
In this workshop you will:
- Learn how to use mindfulness to help your clients build psychological flexibility– the ability to engage in valued behaviours even in the presence of unwanted thoughts and feelings.
- Learn how to support clients in taking committed action in service of their goals, using the power of habit to create sustainable change.
- Be introduced to a powerful and practical toolkit to take straight into your practice
