ACT values cards: How to use them during therapy sessions – Dr Joe Oliver

In this short video taken from our ‘Expert tips for ACT‘ series Joe explores the transformative power of value cards – a creative tool used in ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) to facilitate meaningful conversations about what matters most to a person.

Learn tips for reflecting on your current values and then how to take actionable steps to align your life with them. Whether you’re working with young people or adults, these engaging activities can spark deeper connections and self-discovery.

The cards Joe is using in this video were developed by Dr Louise Hayes and are available to buy on our website. Visit our ACT values cards page to purchase your own set.

Values are about understanding what matters most to us and living a life that aligns with these values. A key process within the ACT model, it helps individuals to identify their own personal values so that they can use them as a compass to guide towards a life that truly matters.
