The SHAPE model by Linda Nicholson & Eric Morris is a helpful framework for conducting contextual behavioural and ACT supervision.
The SHAPE concept can be used as a way to prompt choices and actions during supervision and also used for reflection between supervision sessions.

The framework is made up of 5 components:

The creators of the SHAPE framework
DR LINDA NICHOLSON is a clinical psychologist and the Clinic Manager of the Australian National University Psychology Clinic in Canberra, Australia. Linda has over 15 years’ experience as a clinician and over 10 years’ experience as a supervisor in cognitive behavioural therapies, specifically ACT. She is passionate about supervision and has delivered workshops on SHAPE with her colleague Eric at ACBS conferences.
DR ERIC MORRIS is an Associate Professor at La Trobe University and Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Northern Health, Melbourne, Australia. Eric teaches and supervises provisional psychologists undertaking masters-level training in a university setting. He has over thirty years’ experience working as a clinical psychologist in Australia and the United Kingdom, engaging people with complex mental health problems and their families in public mental health services.
