Many people spend a lot of time obsessing over past, present, or potential future situations, constantly overthinking decisions without taking action. People often overplan and overprepare to avoid making mistakes, and postpone projects if they don’t meet unrealistic perfection standards. People may minimise their own needs and desires in order to avoid rocking the boat or causing conflict in relationships. This cautious, “playing it safe” mindset and behaviour becomes a comfortable habit, even though it can ultimately hold people back from becoming their true selves.
In this talk, Dr. Z aims to explore the reasons behind this “playing it safe” tendency, identify the common manifestations of it, and teach micro-skills to help people evaluate whether those safe behaviours are truly serving them. The core learning is about recognising and overcoming the limiting effects of an overly cautious mindset that prevents people from living authentically and reaching their full potential.
